DJ Red Sonya has consistently been DJing at electronic dance music events, festivals, lounges and clubs in Southern California and Mexico, ever since she put the needle on her first record. She has kept a busy social calendar over the years with several weekly and monthly residencies, plus special appearances in Los Angeles and Baja California, also while producing her own Lady Lush events and supporting other local promoters and DJs. She has made her presence known in San Diego as an inspiring artist and dedicated supporter of the dance music community.
House Music was her first vinyl fetish, and DJs like Mark Farina, Donald Glaude and DJ Dan were her inspiration. While spending her first years as a DJ organizing a multi-genre event called Vinyl Elements, her music collection quickly grew to include Down Tempo, Trip Hop, Funk, Soul, as well as Tech House, Techno and Drum & Bass. Her diversity and wide range of musical taste scored her a variety of gigs, and learning how to play different styles of music helped mold her into the DJ she is today. Whether she’s rocking a banging tech house set to a moving dance floor or playing a downbeat set at a sushi restaurant or art gallery, she never disappoints. Whatever style of music she’s playing, Red Sonya plays from her heart and soul.

As a side project, Red Sonya performs with Alien Tom as Red Alien Invasion and has released several “Red Alien” remixes on Stripped Digital, Hype Musik, and Stripped Off record labels. Together, they also co-produce Native Alien events, Contact and Dia de Los Muertos.
Red Sonya’s solo music production career is off to a great start as her first original track titled “Black Friday” released on Stripped Recordings was immediately played by one of her inspirations, Richie Hawtin. Stay tuned for more music and original production from Red Sonya!
